EastSide 2Pack Aluminium Window and Door Painting Process
Our window painting process uses an industrial strength, marine grade, highly durable two-pack polyurethane topcoat. A wide range of colours are available in gloss, satin, matte or metallic, customised to compliment your décor. The final result is an extremely strong, hard wearing, UV and salt resistant, immaculate finish that looks and functions like new. If required, we are also equipped to paint other metal fixtures such as, garage doors, letter boxes, and hand rails. All windows and doors are spray painted on site, in situ, without the need to remove fixed panels.
The first step in the process involves preparing the surface by removing any corrosion, paint, glues or sealants on the frames by sanding, scrapping or stripping. Various solutions are then used to etch the surface and clean away impurities such as grease, oils and waxes. All surrounding surfaces are then masked up, covered in plastic film and a temporary spray booth is built around the inside of each window and door to prevent overspray. A super etch primer is then applied to the prepared surface. The primer maintains a robust adhesion to all common metals, protects against corrosion, smooths out minor blemishes and provides a solid substrate for the top coat to bond with. For the final stage a two-pack polyurethane paint is then sprayed onto the surface with a minimum of three coats depending on, the colour being used and condition of the original window or door frame. The end product is a beautiful hard-wearing finish that looks and functions like new.
